Summer Reading
Besides your MANDATORY Summer Reading Selections...why not expand your mind and challenge yourself?
How many books are you going to read this summer? And how will you share your reading experiences with the WORLD?
One way would be to start a blog...just like this one. It's FREE and you could create a new post for every book you read...
You could join GoodReads and create reviews for the books you read. Also FREE.
You could join a book club...or start one with your friends. Each week you and a few friends could choose a book and get together to discuss it. Again...this is FREE!!! There are also FREE online book clubs like bookclubit.com.
Finally, if you are looking for inspiration about what to read this summer you could find any number of lists, some of which are on this blog already, online. GoodReads offers lists by subject and genre. You can also check out this list of 200 books you should read.
Whatever you decide to do this summer, I hope you incorporate reading into it because I'm an English teacher and all we really want is for people to read...

Literature Circle Setting Murals 2013
My students went above and beyond this year. I asked them to create their interpretation of the setting from the novel read in their Literature Circles. This is the result...
It is needless to say that I am blown away with the results and very proud of what these students have created...
